In tandem with New York Fashion Week, the NYFPC organized a pre-show Chicago FPC tourreception, and a performance of the smash-hit Broadway musical 'Chicago'.  On hand to speak to a crowd of more than fifty journalists from seventeen countries, was the producer, Barry Weissler, as well as the show's star actors/actresses.  Weissler discussed the show's international appeal, and the countries in which the musical is currently being performed in other languages such as Italian, German, Russian, Spanish, Danish, and most recently, Korean.  Other 'Chicago' organizers discussed the American clothing designers and outlets whose costumes the actors wore, and a U.S. Department of Commerce official present provided statistics about American fashion exports.  Following the reception, the show's organizers provided everyone with free tickets to the evening performance at the Ambassador Theater.
