The Washington Foreign Press Center arranged a reporting tour to Asheville, North Carolina on the issue of climate change.  The first day was spent on NOAA's National Climatic Data Center, where a dozen journalists from Europe and Asia were able to meet with some of the most senior climate scientists in the U.S.  On the second day, they visited a coal-fired power plant that had just installed the latest pollution control equipment and visited a new energy efficient building where they met with members of an NGO, a member of the state's Climate Change Commission, and a solar energy contractor.
