The New York FPC led a tour to Lower Manhattan's Safe Horizon (SH) offices to meet with representatives of the organization. Just prior to International Women's Day, journalists from Russia, China, Italy and Japan were briefed on the organization's latest project - devising ways to keep high school girls safe from physically abusive male partners.  SH reaches out to young women - many of them recent immigrants - in a number of languages, and by "blitzing" neighborhoods with information in venues frequented by youth.  Following the briefing, journalists conducted one-on-one interviews, in which Safe Horizon's staff discussed best practices.  The list of speakers also included a high school volunteer peer leader who talked about being "in the trenches" on campus with those in need of help.
