Ten journalists from five countries (Bulgaria, China, Italy, Japan and Mongolia) visited Boston where they met with Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray who discussed the state's new leadership, as well as its "Open-for-Business" slogan vis-a-vis international commerce. Journalists also met with representatives from Harvard's various schools, who discussed the university's increased post-9/11 enrollment of foreign students. Similar talks were held at MIT, where a guide conducted a tour of the country's foremost technical university, explaining its unique architecture designed by a former alumni. The program ended with an afternoon tour of the New State House, where a docent explained the intricacies of state government following a visit to the House and Senate chambers. The two-day tour concluded with a trip to King's Chapel, the country's oldest Unitarian Church. Inside the historic house of worship, a guide explained how the Chapel provided a vital link toward the establishment of religious freedom in America.
