Eleven of the foreign journalists who visited US Central Command on November FPC tour to SOCOM20 were able to remain for a special series of briefings at US Special Operations Command (SOCOM). LTG Dell Dailey, the Director of SOCOM's Center for Special Operations, provided an unprecedented on-the-record briefing on SOCOM's role in the Global War on Terror, followed by on background question and answer session on any topic within the SOCOM area of responsibility.

The SOCOM journalists also received an on-the-record briefing by Stan Schrager, SOCOM's Public Diplomacy Advisor.  Mr. Schrager highlighted the results of the recent Sovereign Challenge conference hosted by US Strategic Command, where military representatives from over 50 countries came together to discuss how all nations have a vested interest in fighting terror when criminal, non-state actors infringe on their sovereignty.
