Press Credentials
New York City has several kinds of credentials for foreign journalists.

The New York Foreign Press Center issues its own credential, which is valid for three years and renewable at the end of that period for members on continuing assignment.  The press badge is recognized by several organizations in New York and allows access to the facilities at the Center.  To receive one of these credentials, please follow these procedures by providing:
(1) An original, recently dated letter from the director of your news organization, written in English on the organization's letterhead, confirming your assignment.  *If you need a New York DMV letter for a driver's license, please see below.
(2) An original letter from the press attache of your consulate in New York, on consulate letterhead, confirming the company you work for is a news organization;
(3) Passport and "I" visa or residency "green" card;
(4) One recent piece/article which was produced/written in the U.S.

Renewal - If your credential has expired and you wish to renew it, you will need to submit all of the above requirements again.  However, you do not need a new consulate letter if you have not changed organizations.

Note: If at any time you change news organizations, please notify the New York Foreign Press Center immediately to obtain a new credential.

Please call to schedule an appointment before coming in to the Center.
