Hawaii: Bridge Between the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific Region

The Washington FPC, in cooperation with the East West Center, conducted a four-day reporting tour for foreign media to Oahu, Hawaii. The tour included a visit to U.S. Pacific Command (USCINCPAC) and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Asia Pacific Institute, as well as meetings with local government officials, NGOs and opinion leaders. The tour also addressed environmental and sustainable development issues.

The East West Center is an internationally recognized educational and research organization established by the U.S. Congress to promote understanding between the U.S. and countries of the Asia Pacific region.
