Humana Festival of New American Plays

The NYFPC led a tour to the 32nd annual Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky.  Journalists representing Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Guyana and Estonia attended the four-day event, which featured thw work of a diverse array of 17 emerging and established playwrights.  The festival is acclaimed worldwide as America's preeminent showcase of professional stage premiers.  This year's event marked three decades of continuous support from its underwriter, The Humana Foundation.  Journalists conducted interviews with the Festival's principles, attended performances and were able to speak at length with up-and-coming actors.  Acts chosen for the yearly festival in many cases are invited to perform on Broadway and other well-known venues across the country and internationally.
