The tour for four reporters who represent media outlets throughout Afghanistan, provided a detailed look at U.S.-Afghan relations.  The tour featured four days of meetings in Washington with officials at State Department, USAID, the House Foreign Affairs Committee for South Asia, Department of Defense, IMF and U.S. Department of Agriculture, where the journalists gained a better understanding of USG efforts in Afghanistan.  In San Diego, program highlights included meetings with members of the Afghan community, Jalalabad Sister City officials and a discussion with Congresswoman Susan Davis to get their views on the humanitarian needs of the people and the security environment in the country.
