The New York Foreign Press Center coordinated a one-day special access tour along with a series of briefings at the United Nations.  Attended by 21 New York-based journalists from 15 different countries, the tour focused on the inner-workings and infrastructure of the UN in order to provide foreign correspondents the ability to accurately cover the largest international organization in the world.  In addition to providing insight into the responsibilities and mission of the UN, special attention was paid to how the UN inter-agency system responds to international crises and sets into operation the mechanism for managing them.
