The Washington Foreign Press Center organized a tour to the Library of Congress’ National Audio-Visual Conservation Center, Packard Campus in Culpeper, Virginia - home to the world’s largest audio-visual collection. The journalists learned about the Library’s ongoing efforts to preserve American cultural heritage and international collections through the acquisition, cataloging, and conservation of motion pictures, television programs, radio broadcasts, and sound recordings. The tour also included visits to conservation laboratories and vaults such as the Sound and Film Labs, Moving Image Vault, and the Digital Archive Data Center.
