The FPC's Chicago election night tour drew over 100 responses from U.S.-based international correspondents who wished to attend. The FPC selected 25 participants from countries like Russia, Brazil, China, and Ukraine, and organized on-the-record briefings by the Chicago Board of Elections and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. On election day, participants visited several polling stations in Chicago. The FPC also liaised with the Obama campaign to ensure that all 84 correspondents who expressed interest in the tour received credentials for the election night rally at McCormick Place.
