The Foreign Press Center hosted 25 journalists from all world regions on an eight-day reporting trip to Manchester, New Hampshire and Boston, Massachusetts, to cover the 2012 presidential election.
The tour kicked-off in the swing state of New Hampshire, where meetings were held with business leaders, political analysts, pollsters, academics, party activists, and election officials. The reporters also attended rallies for both Governor Romney and President Obama. While in Boston, the journalists met with community activists, and campaign volunteers. At Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, the journalists attended a lively panel discussion on campaign issues, and the role of the role of media in the election. On election day, the journalists interviewed voters, and also attended various election night events.
The participating journalists hailed from: Albania, Algeria, Austria, Bangladesh, Benin, Brazil, Bhutan, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Greece, Indonesia, Jamaica, Latvia, Lithuania, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
