Thirteen journalists from Europe and Asia traveled to Danville, Kentucky to cover the vice presidential debate at Centre College. The tour kicked off with a dynamic panel discussion with the Centre debate co-chairs, Centre government professor, and four students including the presidents of both the Centre Democrats and Republicans. Subsequent meetings included the Kentucky GOP and Democratic chairmen, the Commission on Presidential Debates, CEO of Keeneland Racing and Sales to talk about the local economy, and a healthcare briefing with Dr. Michael Karpf who clearly explained the plans of both political parties healthcare policies. On debate day, journalists interviewed students, faculty, community members, and dozens of surrogates in “Spin Alley.”
