On July 19, the NYFPC hosted a tour to two NYC mosques, including the Madina Masjid, Islamic Council of America, and the New York University Islamic Center, to give journalists an opportunity to write stories about the vibrancy of the American Muslim experience as the New York community prepares to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. Thirteen journalists from nine countries, including Pakistan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Estonia, Germany, China and Japan, participated in the tour. The journalists discussed preparations for Ramadan with Imams at both mosques and talked to young American Muslims at the NYU Islamic Center about how they practice their faith and how they are sustaining and developing their Muslim identity as they pursue their education and careers.
