In celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Cherry Blossom Festival the FPC lead a group of 18 foreign journalists on a walking tour of the tidal basin. The tour was lead by a National Park Service ranger who provided journalists with an in-depth overview regarding the history of the cherry blossoms, their significance and how they are cared for throughout the year. Journalists also had an opportunity to meet with members of the centennial host committee and the Japanese Ambassador to the U.S.
