Description: The Tourism Council of Frederick County, Inc. has launched the website www.CampDavidG8Summit.com to assist members of the local, regional, national, and international media who are covering the G8 Summit at Camp David on May 18-19, 2012.
Frederick, Maryland, USA, May 9, 2012 – The Tourism Council of Frederick County, Inc. announces the launch of the website www.CampDavidG8Summit.com, a resource developed to assist members of the local, regional, national, and international media who are covering the G8 Summit at Camp David on May 18-19, 2012. The site provides useful media resources such as area information and local history, royalty free images, royalty free video B-roll, story ideas, local resources, and frequently asked questions. Information about the area is provided in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Russian. The presidential retreat, Camp David, is in Frederick County, Maryland, which is located less than one hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland.
“The resources on the website are ideal for story introductions and background information on the area surrounding Camp David,” said John Fieseler, the Executive Director of the Tourism Council of Frederick County. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge and Catoctin Mountains, Frederick County is renowned for its rich Civil War history and is minutes from historic American Civil War sites of Gettysburg, Antietam, and Harpers Ferry. The City of Frederick is the second largest city in Maryland, and is home to galleries, specialty shops, antiques stores, fine restaurants, and a thriving arts and entertainment scene.
The Tourism Council of Frederick County is also coordinating efforts with the Frederick County G-8 Summit Information Center. Partners in public safety and law enforcement, county and municipal agencies, and community organizations are coordinating at all levels to address public safety issues related to the upcoming G-8 Summit.
