
MEDIA ADVISORY: President Obama to Speak on Global Food Security
On Friday, May 18, 2012, in the lead up to the G-8 Summit at Camp David, President Obama will deliver the opening keynote to the Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. The President will be joined by African Leaders, business leaders, international organizations, and leading civil society participants who will discuss innovative and practical ways to advance food security and agricultural development in Africa, which has been a priority for this Administration for the last three years. The President’s remarks will highlight the G-8’s efforts to promote food security, improve nutrition and alleviate poverty. The event is sponsored by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
Media wishing to cover the event should apply for a media credential via email to G8Press@usaid.gov. Applications for accreditation are requested no later than Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
