Twenty-eight foreign journalists from around the world participated in the reporting tour on "The U.S. Economy and Its Global Role: Perspectives from Wall Street and Main Street." As part of the tour, Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment Robert Hormat briefed on “
21st Century Economic Statecraft.” Economists, analysts and managers from Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Standard & Poor’s and BlackRock provided briefings on the financial services industry and the U.S. economic recovery. The journalists also heard from AFL-CIO Deputy Chief Investment Officer Brandon Rees on corporate governance issues and from Bloomberg News Editor-at-Large Tom Keene.
