DNCC TO HOST FINAL MEDIA WALKTHROUGH JUNE 5

CHARLOTTE –The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) will host a media walkthrough for national, local and online media outlets interested in covering the 2012 Democratic National Convention from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm EST, on June 5, 2012, at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. A more detailed itinerary, which will also include tours of the Charlotte Convention Center and the Bank of America Stadium, will be distributed to registered outlets closer to the event. Our telecommunications and exposition services vendors will be available for meetings on June 6 and 7, 2012.

The walkthrough will serve as an opportunity for news organizations to receive detailed information about the logistics of their coverage at the 2012 convention, which will be held from September 4 to 6, 2012. Convention officials will provide a detailed briefing and update for the media. Information will also be available regarding DNCC-selected vendors including telecommunication, construction management, food and beverage catering and exposition services. Representatives from the media will have an opportunity to address questions about coverage logistics to DNCC officials. The walkthrough is for planning purposes only, with portions of the walkthrough open for press coverage.

Working members of the news media interested in attending should register at www.demconvention.com/media.asp. The deadline to register for the walkthrough is May 25, 2012. Registration is required to attend.

Attendance at the walkthrough is not required for media organizations seeking credentials for the convention. In addition, please note that participation in the walkthrough does not guarantee an organization will be credentialed for the sites during the convention. This will be the second and final logistical walkthrough for media organizations ahead of the September 2012 convention. The DNCC hosted a winter walkthrough on January 18, 2012.
