Date: 01/30/2012 Location: Tampa, Florida Description: Foreign journalists on an FPC sponsored tour to Tampa visit HUD office to learn how families affected by the housing crisis are assisted. - State Dept ImageThe Washington and New York Foreign Press Centers (FPC) partnered to bring over 50 international print, radio and television journalists to Miami and Tampa, Florida, to cover 2012 election issues affecting voters in this competitive battleground state.  Participating journalists represented major media organizations from Western Europe, East Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and South America, reaching an audience of more than 250 million Date: 01/30/2012 Location: Miami, Florida Description: Foreign press on a Foreign Press Center tour to the Florida primary, meet with Maria Elena Salinas, anchor, Univision in Miami to learn about the hispanic community. - State Dept Imagepeople around the world.  Building on interest in the Florida Republican primary race, both reporting tours included opportunities to attend campaign events, meet with local Democratic and Republican party leaders, and to talk to Florida voters about the Hispanic vote and senior citizen and retiree voter issues.  Both tours also took journalists to see how the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and local NGOs are assisting families in Florida affected by the housing crisis.
