The Foreign Press Center took twenty-three foreign journalists to visit the Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort for a half day program on medical and humanitarian assistance. Media interest focused on the Comfort’s capabilities as a 1,000 bed hospital that can deploy anywhere in the world for disaster response efforts like the 2010 Haiti earthquake or for the Navy’s bi-annual humanitarian assistance missions like Continuing Promise and Pacific Partnership
