The Foreign Press Center arranged a tour to the media preview of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, in advance of the official dedication on August 28. Twenty-six journalists from Germany, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Korea, China, Russia, Switzerland, Chile, and Denmark attended. The journalists filmed B-roll of the memorial, and interviewed Foundation President and CEO Harry Johnson, Executive Architect Dr. Ed Jackson, and Master Sculptor Lei Yixin. The tour contributed to journalists' understanding of the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King's significance to that movement
