A dozen foreign journalists from Euope and Asia traveled to Texas to cover state politics with a focus on redistricting and also U.S. military training. The group got a comprehensive overview of Texas politics in meetings with state Senator Kel Seliger, state Representative Joaquin Castro, University of Texas political science experts, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, MALDEF and other political players. The group spent their final day at Lackland, AFB where they covered Air Force basic training, the Defense Language Institute, and the International Air Forces training school.
