On January 11, The Federal Reserve Bank of New York hosted journalists from the New York Foreign Press Center on a tour of the bank – to include its highly secure vault. Senior Vice President Debby Perelmuter provided a one hour briefing on the role of the Fed and monetary policy. Twenty journalists attended, including representatives from Korea, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, China, Russia and Japan. Due to high demand, another tour is likely to be scheduled in the next few weeks.
