Eighteen FPC journalists participated in an art and architecture tour of the Capitol. Steve Livengood, the Chief Guide and Public Programs Director of the United States Capitol Historical Society, explained the architecture of the East Front, then brought the group into the Rotunda and Brumidi Corridors in the Senate, explaining architectural features and focusing on the art history of the Capitol. This tour gave foreign journalists an appreciation of the beauty of the Capitol, as well as its functionality as a working government building. In attendance were journalists from Germany, India, Korea, Poland, Spain, Russia, and Turkey.
