Twenty four journalists from Egypt, Germany,Hungary, Japan,Korea, Netherlands and Spain participated in the tour. Representatives from the Design Trust for Public Space navigated journalists through the Garment District, putting them in contact with some of the businesses that drive New York's fashion industry, including a clothing manufacturer, a patternmaker, and designer Yeohlee Teng. Along the way, journalists learned about the Made in Midtown project, which studied how the Garment Industry works and why it's an integral part of New York City's economy, identity, and sense of place.
