pagedp2@state.gov Nine journalists from China, Germany, Hungary, Japan and Switzerland participated in the tour. They heard from government and business leaders on how carbon emissions are being reduced in a state responding to the challenge of climate change. State and city officials presented goals, timelines and strategies. Boeing presented studies on bio-fuels that can fly jet planes; Microsoft took journalists through its "home of the future" -- programmed for better energy efficiency; and David Allen, Vice President of McKinstry, a building management and construction firm, explained how President Obama called his firm a "model" for a sustainable future.
