Eleven 11 journalists from Austria, China, Japan, the Middle East and Switzerland participated in a reporting tour in Idaho. There, they learned about the state's green alternative energy resources and its economy from briefings with Idaho’s Lt. Governor Brad Little and Paul Kjellander, Idaho Chief for Office of Energy Resources. Media also met with representatives of the Idaho National Laboratory, geothermal, solar, and wind power companies and visited acquaculture farms, a green energy locomotive manufacturer and green buildings using renewable energy resources.

Prior to traveling to Idaho, journalists met with Senator James E. Risch (R- Idaho) and his senior staff in Washington, D.C. on May 4. The briefing provided political and economic background on the state.
