Two dozen journalists from 13 countries toured the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fl.
The first day of the tour included the pre-launch briefings at NASA’s media center and observing the preparation of the shuttle for launch. On the day of the launch (pictured), the journalists attended the “walkout” of the astronauts as they left to board the shuttle. Other tour highlights include an up-close tour of some of NASA’s facilities, including where they prepare materials for the International Space Station (ISS), and one-on-one interviews with the engineers who have been involved with the shuttle program since its inception.
