WHAT: FPC Reporting Tour on "The Making of a U.S. Marine"

WHEN: Thurs. Nov. 19 - Fri. Nov 20

WHERE: Marine Corps Recruit Depot - Parris Island, South Carolina

Media who RSVP are not guaranteed a place on the tour, but every effort will be made to accommodate all who apply. These decisions will only be announced after the RSVP deadline above. Foreign media only, please.

BACKGROUND:

Foreign media will have the rare opportunity to observe U.S. Marine recruits in all phases of recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris
Island, SC. Possible activities include:

* Opportunities to film recruits in physical fitness, Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, and weapons qualification training, provided training is not
disrupted.

* Opportunities to observe at a distance parts of The Crucible, where recruits become Marines, without disrupting this solemn occasion.

* Possible interviews with recruits, Drill Instructors, and family members. Only by prior arrangement and according to agreed ground rules.

* Opportunities to film the graduation ceremony and Family Day activities.

Media will be responsible for their own transport to Parris Island and their stay in an affordable local hotel. If needed, FPC will arrange a car pool
from the airport in Charleston, SC. Media will need to arrive on the evening of Weds, Nov. 18th to participate but can depart on either the
evening of Thurs. Nov 19th or at Noon on Fri the 20th.
