The Foreign Press Center organized a one-day tour to Quantico, Va. to observe marine training. Fifty-seven jounralists from twenty-seven countries participated in the tour. The media observed and had briefings on Marine Corps officer basic training, military operations in urban terrain, counterinsurgency, working with civilian populations, small unit tactics, leadership, values and ethics. There were also interviews with Polish, French, German, Japanese, Arabic, and Chinese-speaking Marines.
