The Foreign Press Center programmed a tour to San Diego, one of the major U.S. cities positioned to be a world leader in clean technologies and recently received a federal grant from the U.S. Commerce Economic Development Administration to that end. The reporting tour included meetings with the mayor of San Diego who discussed the city's cross-border economic initiative with Tijuana; and briefings, media availabilities and phot ops with executives of clean energy companies and research facilities. Participating journalists represented media organizations from Germany, Indonesia, Norway, Poland, Sri Lanka and Switzerland.
